Meet Troy Williamson, a Facilities Coordinator located in Mobile, Al. Troy is responsible for managing the operational day-to-day facility responsibilities of the Mobile site. He joined Airbus U.S. & Defense as a contractor and has worked as a direct employee for the past three years.

Troy began working at age fourteen as an air conditioning metal duct fabricator, electrician, and plumber for his great-uncle.

“I was fortunate enough to have great people in my life to give me a good work ethic and teach me how to work with my hands,” he said. “My father and great-uncle are the reason I am where I am today.”

Prior to Airbus U.S. Space & Defense, Troy worked as a Structures Mechanic Composite Technician, where he worked for a variety of aviation companies and government contracts overseas.

“During my years in the aviation field, I learned the expectations of what and how a facility should be maintained,” he said.

In his current role, Troy’s responsibilities as Facilities Coordinator include subcontractor and vendor coordination, ensuring adherence to regulations and procedures, maintaining a safe and clean environment, processing facility requests, performing maintenance, and more.

Troy’s favorite project while in his role as facility coordinator has been preparing the Mobile site for a five-year fire inspection– a challenging task that requires coordination with the local fire department, S&S Fire Suppression Company, and environmental companies.

“We passed our five-year inspection that day because it was a team effort from everyone here at Airbus U.S. Space & Defense,” he said.

Outside of work, Troy enjoys woodworking and building hot rods. His ideal day is spent with family and friends.
