Victoria Baptiste

Meet Dr. Victoria Baptiste, a Senior Network Administrator based in Merritt Island, Fl. With an engineering doctorate from George Washington University, she has worked with Airbus OneWeb Satellites for three-and-a-half years.

Victoria’s journey into engineering began during her early college years as a physics major. While working with computer systems, one of her best friends advised her to focus on IT and engineering for a more financially stable future. Taking his advice to heart, she immediately shifted her academic and career focus to IT, starting in Systems Engineering, and eventually moving into Network Engineering. Currently, Victoria is integral to the ARROW450 project. In addition to her regular network administration duties, she is part of the team building and maintaining the ARROW450/Hydra network infrastructure.

When asked about her favorite part of being at Airbus, Victoria highlights the people she works with. For her, the best part of working at Airbus is being a member of the IT team, where collaboration and innovation thrive. She also appreciates the opportunity to engage in various projects, learn new technologies, and be part of an exciting industry where satellites are built.

Working in a field traditionally dominated by men has not always been easy. However, despite some obstacles, Victoria has consistently excelled. She is grateful for the opportunities she has had and takes pride in being a role model for other women and individuals from the black and Caribbean communities. She hopes her success inspires others to pursue their goals despite any challenges they may encounter.
