Zephyr – High Above the Rest
The first stratospheric ultra-long endurance UAS of its kind, Zephyr, a high altitude platform station (HAPS) is capable of flying continuously for months at a time, day and night, at around 70,000 feet. Zephyr recently performed its 3rd long endurance flight, brining its flight hours to over 128 days, 126 of which have been flown in the stratosphere. Zephyr has achieved over 4,000 flight hours and has covered 140,000 nautical miles to date.
Laser Communication Terminals
Airbus U.S. offers Laser Terminals for a wide range of applications. The LCT135, which can transmit up to 1.8 gigabits per second from Geo Stationary Orbit (GEO) over distances of up to 80,000 kilometers enabling data transmission in near real-time.
