Airbus U.S. Space & Defense and CMS Announce Partnership to Counter IUUF
Partnership between CMS and Airbus U.S. Space and Defense advances the conversation amongst policy experts and practitioners on the role of the U.S. Sea Services in countering illegal, unreported, and unregulated fishing.
ARLINGTON, VA, September 21, 2023 — The Center for Maritime Strategy welcomes the partnership of Airbus U.S. Space and Defense, a trusted U.S. government leader in military aircraft, satellites, geospatial intelligence and cyber capabilities.
“We’re pleased to support the Center for Maritime Strategy’s research on Illegal, Unreported, and Unregulated Fishing (IUUF),” said Robert A. Geckle, Chairman and CEO of Airbus U.S. Space and Defense. “The rules-based international order that has brought unprecedented prosperity over the past seven decades is at threat from IUUF activities and we look forward to advancing the effort to develop policy solutions to this challenge.”
The IUUF Working Group convenes key members of the U.S. government, academia, industry, and international partners, allowing stakeholders to discuss the issues presented by and challenges in dealing with illegal, unreported, and unregulated fishing.
Support from Airbus will advance the Center’s analysis, publications, and high-level convenings engaging key stakeholders across government, academia, and industry to drive national security policies rooting in promoting peace, prosperity, and security.
