Meet Ashley Dittmer, a Supply Chain Project Manager based in Merritt Island, Fl. She works with the Supplier Program Management team responsible for both Arrow150 and Arrow450 spacecraft projects.

Dittmer started her career in the Aerospace & Defense industry fifteen years ago, after pursuing an internship that rooted her desire to support the warfighter. Dittmer’s interest in the military-aerospace industry was inspired at an early age by the immense impact her family’s careers led in similar sectors. Prior to Airbus U.S. Space & Defense, Dittmer held Supplier Management and Program Management positions for a range of aerospace and defense programs.

Dittmer has worked at Airbus U.S. Space & Defense for 2.5 years supporting the mission focus to keep the supplier ecosystem resilient from market disruptions, regulatory changes, and demand variability. As she took a moment to reflect, she offered her gratitude for the company’s commitment to prioritizing her professional development with its indorsement to participate with Airbus PMDP 2024 (Procurement Managers Development Program).

“I feel proud to be a part of a diverse team supporting the rapidly growing space sector and mission to stay ahead of tomorrow’s threat while bridging the digital divide,” she said.

Outside of work, Dittmer enjoys spending time with her family and friends whether it be at a country concert, football game or new travel adventures planned. Her hobbies have become her kids hobbies, thus she treasures attending their sports and dance events along with unwinding the day with a good book.

Dittmer’s advice to someone just starting their career would be to get comfortable being uncomfortable will shape their career trajectory. “If you don’t believe in yourself, don’t expect others to,” she said. “Also, don’t forget to have fun and enjoy the journey.”
