Meet Christina Pentz

Meet Christina Pentz, the Airbus U.S. Space & Defense Chief Engineer for Arrow 450 Configuration 3 and 4 buses, located in Houston, Tx.

What drew Christina to Aerospace Engineering was her interest in helping decipher the unknown darkness of space.

“I started out supporting human space flight but was drawn to what we can accomplish at a faster timeline if we let instruments do the work,” she said.

Prior to working at Airbus U.S., Christina spent a combined sixteen years plus at Lockheed Martin Space System and Ball Aerospace supporting spacecraft structural analysis, dynamics, and launch verification of NASA human space flight and exploration missions. During that time, she discovered an interest in systems engineering in addition to spacecraft structures & dynamics.

In her current role, Christina looks forward to the challenge of a quick timeline and the chance to work across various technical areas with a highly skilled and diverse team. She feels driven by the Airbus U.S. mission to provide a quick turn-around of the Arrow 450 product line.

“I care equally about the product, the process, and the people that make great ideas come to life,” she said. “Every part plays an important role in our long-term success.”

Christina advises anyone beginning their career to always say yes to a challenge.

“Taking on the challenging tasks and stretch assignments is the fastest way to grow and keep your brain fueled,” she said. “Be accountable and strive to see things through to the end.”

Outside of work, Christina enjoys gardening and entertaining family and friends with her husband and nine-year-old daughter.
