NASA’s European Service Module
The European Service Module, built by Airbus Defence and Space, is Orion's powerhouse and will supply the spacecraft with in-space propulsion and power, as well as providing air and water for the crew when they are aboard. The service module will also keep the spacecraft at the right temperature and on course, while it travels to deep space.
Orion’s Powerhouse
Orion is NASA’s crew vehicle designed to send astronauts into deep space. The European Service Module is a core part of the Orion crew vehicle. Orion will be used to support all of NASA's Artemis missions to the moon. It will provide the vehicle to transport the crew for the Artemis-3 mission that will land the first woman and next man on the Moon and bring them back safely to Earth.
