Third location in Colorado expands operations in the state to over 45,000 square feet.

ARLINGTON, VA, September 26, 2023 — Airbus U.S Space & Defense announced the opening of a new office in downtown Denver.

The new office, Airbus’ third location in the state, supports defense, space and technology leaders from around the company and serves as a hub for remote employees living across the western United States.

“Colorado is a leader in emerging defense and national security space technology development,” said Rob Geckle, Chairman and CEO of Airbus U.S. Space & Defense. “Expanding our footprint allows for greater interaction with customers and collaboration with leading companies and suppliers in the region.”

Colorado is evolving into an epicenter for defense and national security space companies, with several key installations across the state including Schriever Air Force Base, Peterson Space Force Base and Buckley Space Force Base, and is the home of U.S. Northern Command and U.S. Space Command.

“We are thrilled to have Airbus in Colorado, home to the planet’s most advanced aerospace ecosystem,” said Robert Beletic, the State’s Aerospace and Defense Industry Manager, Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade. “Airbus brings extensive expertise and makes the ecosystem even stronger.”

According to the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade, the Centennial State has the largest aerospace economy per capita in the country, home to over 400 companies.

Airbus’ other two locations in Fort Collins and Aurora provide a range of services including advanced satellite imagery processing, geospatial data management and pilot training on state-of-the-art simulators for Frontier airline’s all-Airbus fleet.
