Meet Federico Cinelli, the ICS, Framework, EGSE, Test Manufacturing Manager located in Merritt Island, Fl.

Before joining Airbus U.S. Space & Defense, Cinelli worked at Embraer Executive Jets and served as a Refurbishment Technician at SpaceX. He has been with Airbus U.S. Space & Defense for over five years now.

“I have always been fascinated with the challenge of building and launching a working product into space,” Cinelli said. “I took a chance, put in an application here, and am so glad everything worked out.”

As the ICS, Framework, EGSE, and Test Manufacturing Manager, Cinelli manages a team of engineers responsible for assembling, configuring, testing, and diagnosing all electrical ground support equipment. His team also tests environment, framework, and everything in between.

“Seeing the collaboration and teamwork across all of the teams here working towards a common goal is the coolest thing in the world,” he said.

Since beginning at Airbus U.S. Space & Defense, Cinelli has experienced many proud moments with his team. One special memory was the delivery of the last satellite for the GEN1 program.

“It was the first time that I could be a part of a production program completely from start to finish,” he said. “The handshakes and emotions of seeing it completed were awesome.”
