Meet Patricia McMahon, an Indirect Costs Controller located in Merritt Island, Florida. She manages the budgeting and oversight of expenses at Airbus U.S. Space & Defense to ensure efficient cost management.

Patricia began her career journey working with various CPA accounting firms, where she managed a diverse range of businesses. She began here at Airbus U.S. Space & Defense seven years ago during the early stages of the satellite programs.

“The incredible culture and collaborative team environment we built here during that time was so compelling, I decided to stay,” she said.

“I never imagined I’d end up in the space industry,” she said. “But the experiences and insights shared by my colleagues over the years have been a major source of inspiration and personal development.”

She recalls her favorite memory of witnessing Airbus satellites launch from the Kennedy Space Center during a night launch.

“It was an awe-inspiring experience,” she said. “The camaraderie we shared on the bus ride to the launch site and the collective excitement of the team made it an unforgettable event.”

Outside of work, Patricia enjoys being a mom and watching her 9-year-old son’s creative projects come to life. Her son especially loves building and competing with combat robots at various fairs and events across the state, she says.

“Working at Airbus U.S. Space & Defense has been a rewarding and challenging adventure,” she said. “I’ve enjoyed every moment of it.”
