Meet Deborah Glanville, a Buyer located in Merritt Island, Fla. She is responsible for the acquisition of goods and services on behalf of the organization.

Prior to working at Airbus U.S. Space & Defense, Deborah worked for over 20 years in the accounting field and for 15 years as a Buyer for a government contracting company and a local government organization.

What drew Deborah to the Buying field was her interest in the unique challenges it presents.

“I love the challenge of getting the best deal possible and helping my organization succeed,” she said.

In her current role, Deborah plays a vital role in procurement by sourcing products, negotiating with suppliers, evaluating bids, and ensuring that the organization obtains the necessary resources at the best possible value. She collaborates closely with suppliers to establish favorable terms, including pricing, delivery schedules, and quality standards.

“I have always loved aviation and space, so working for Airbus is a career-high for me,” she said.

What sets Deborah apart in the Buying field is her tenacity in the search for savings while ensuring positive relations with our vendors and our internal customers. She advises anyone entering her field to learn from those who are more experienced and always to stay positive.

“I’ve learned throughout my career that that positivity makes such a difference to all aspects of your life,” she said.

Looking forward, Deborah is excited to watch the company grow and become an even more significant contributor to space and defense.

“At Airbus U.S. Space & Defense, there’s no limit to where we can go and what we can do,” she said.

Outside of work, Deborah enjoys spending time outdoors by the lake, quilting, and listening to heavy metal music.
