Meet Tracey Goetz, Director of Programs and Business Development for the Air Power Line of Business based in Mobile, Al. Tracey has been with Airbus U.S. Space & Defense for over 18 years.

Prior to Airbus U.S. Space & Defense, Tracey served on active duty as a helicopter pilot in the U.S. Air Force for 26 years, primarily in Special Operations. When not flying, he focused on requirements, programming, budgeting, acquisition, force structure, and modernization planning.

After retiring from the Air Force, Tracey transitioned to Airbus in 2006, joining the business development team for the Air Force program.

“I was drawn to a role at Airbus because of the opportunity it gave me to apply the knowledge and experience I had gained from my military career to my role,” he said.

In his current role, Tracey leads Business Development, Bids & Proposals, and Program Management/Contract Execution for the sales and support of C212, CN235, and C295 aircraft.

“What I believe sets me apart in my field is my ability and willingness to learn new skills and step in wherever needed,” he said.

Over the years, Tracey has contributed to nearly every business line at Airbus U.S., including Military Aircraft (Fixed Wing), Helicopters, Aircraft Electronics/Avionics/Connected Intelligence, Unmanned Aircraft, and Spacecraft Equipment.

“My favorite aspect of working in the space and defense industry is the ability to provide technology and services to the warfighter so they can do their job and return,” he said.

When asked who inspires him professionally, Tracey’s answer was simple: the people he works with.
