Meet Rachel Welch, the Graphic Artist & Production Lead. In her role, Rachel is responsible for proposal graphic creation and Marketing & Communications graphics and deliverables.

Rachel was drawn to the graphic design field by her interest in compelling, beautiful marketing campaigns that captured audiences.

“I have always loved anything that goes fast, like automobiles, helicopters, and planes,” she said.  “When Airbus U.S. Space & Defense had a graphics spot, I knew I wanted to help make our products look appealing and enticing.”

Prior to Airbus U.S. Space & Defense, Rachel worked as a Marketing Coordinator in the construction industry in Jacksonville, Fla., where she developed proposals and led marketing efforts.

Rachel began her current role over a year ago and values being part of the space and defense industry.

“I am proud to work for a company that helps secure our nation,” she said. “The technological advances in our vehicles to protect those who serve, as well as citizens, are astonishing.”

One of Rachel’s favorite projects so far has been the Safety Wall Mural at the Merritt Island Facility.

“It was my first ever printed mural, and it helps keep my coworkers and peers aware of safety in the workplace,” she said.

Of the many moments she’s experienced the past year, Rachel most fondly remembers attending the AUSA Tradeshow and meeting her team in person for the first time.

“Seeing our products and team work the floor and our competitors around the booth was amazing,” she said. “It helps bring the ‘why’ into why we do our job and what our company stands for.”

To others entering her field, Rachel emphasizes the value of feedback.

“Feedback is the greatest asset in my line of work,” she said. “Hearing and applying notes throughout a project help bring the idea to life.”
