Small Satellite Manufacturing
The Airbus U.S. Space & Defense final assembly line in Merritt Island, Florida is home to Airbus' small satellite manufacturing capability in the United States. Located in the Space Coast’s Exploration Park, employees at the Airbus U.S. state-of-the-art facility build and integrate the ARROW family of satellites, including the ARROW150 and the new ARROW450, for a variety of commercial and government customers. The ARROW150 satellite provides customers with an affordable platform for high-performance space applications, while the larger, more modular ARROW450 offers greater versatility and capability to support a range of missions.

Heritage:
The facility, which began as a pioneering joint venture formerly known as Airbus OneWeb Satellites (AOS), mass produced more than 600 satellites which are performing on orbit now for the OneWeb first generation (“GEN1”) commercial telecommunications satellite constellation. The AOS joint venture team pioneered a rapid, repeatable satellite manufacturing approach and collaborative supply chain relationships that produced two satellites per day, which significantly transformed the small satellite industry.
