The Honorable Franklin C. Miller


Outside Director

Frank Miller is an Airbus U.S. Outside Director and member of the Government Security Committee.

He served 31 years in the U.S. Government and was a senior policy official for over two decades at the Pentagon, culminating as Acting Assistant Secretary of Defense, International Security Policy, and four years at the White House’s National Security Council staff. At the White House he was responsible for a wide range of Presidential policy in the fields of nuclear deterrence policy, strategic arms reductions, national space policy, defense trade reform, landmines, transforming the American and NATO militaries, and coordinating interagency support of Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom.

He serves on several U.S. Government advisory boards and is a member of the Board of Managers of Sandia National Laboratory. In addition to receiving multiple high-level U.S. Government awards, he has received the French Legion of Honor, Norway’s Royal Order of Merit, Japan’s Order of the Rising Sun, and an honorary knighthood from the United Kingdom.

He is a graduate of Williams College (BA) and Princeton University (MPA).
