Meet Matthew Rogers, our Bids & Proposals Coordinator located in Arlington, Va. Matthew began at Airbus U.S. Space and Defense as an intern in the summer of 2023 and has worked full-time for nearly a year.

“I’m not sure what drew me to work in proposal management since it’s not something you study in school,” he said. “It kind of chose me.”

What Matthew enjoys about his role is how he faces a different challenge every day.

“I do a little bit of everything,” he said. “I have the pleasure of working with people across the company and supporting all of our lines of business.”

Matthew’s primary responsibility is developing and delivering compliant and compelling customer-focused proposals. He leads and manages the proposal development process from the pre-proposal phase through post-proposal phase. In addition to his main role, he also helps manage and grow the intern program.

“What I like most about the space and defense industry is how we’re always attempting to do the impossible,” he said. “It leads to a great amount of creativity and innovation.”

Matthew feels proud to work for a company committed to supporting the defense community in various ways, from space to helicopters to fixed-wing aircraft.

“I also appreciate how tight-knit the space and defense industry is, despite being so large,” he said.

Outside of work, Matthew loves traveling to new places and learning about different cultures, which fulfills his love for history. He also enjoys spending time outside, hiking, and coaching sports.
